We sadly aren’t able to respond to all submissions due the volume we receive. Rumpuses are party events which means they are sociable, loud, busy, fast moving, distracting and populated by people often ‘under the influence’ meaning the work shown needs to work well in this sort of environment.īut all this being said we’ve shown things in the past that you might not immediately think would fit into that outlined above and we’ve been blown away by how well they’ve worked. We look for videogames and interactive digital work which is either installation based, multi-player, competitive, has pervasive or physical elements, uses crazy peripherals or makes a playful spectacle. However before you do that please take a few moments to read below about what work we are looking for. We welcome a diverse pool of submissions, from personal stories of crossing borders or growing up in an immigrant home, to experiences working with refugee populations from around the world. Everyone is welcome to reach out to us and we especially want to hear from those in creative fields beyond video games and those whose backgrounds aren’t always represented. New Column Alert <3 Parallel Practice, a new monthly column at The Rumpus, is edited by our very own Anna Held, whom you may remember from our Mental Health Awareness Month last year. Our submission door is always open so there is no deadline to send us your work by. Whilst we know a lot of creators we certainly don’t know you all by a long long shot and we love to hear about new videogames and interactive projects that might be a good fit for a future Rumpus event. ![]()
